Stopped at Rattlesnake Springs (part of Carlsbad Cavern NP) this morning
while driving back to Albuquerque from Houston, TX. It was pretty quiet,
but I managed to total 24 species after a lot of walking. Bird of the day
for sure was a Long-billed Thrasher. It gave me very good looks, and the
longer I looked at it, the less it looked like a Brown Thrasher. It was
duller brown, gray cheek was darker, beak was black, and its breast and
underside were whiter than that of a Brown Thrasher. Life bird for me.
