I went out listening for owls at dusk last evening and did hear the low trill of a Screech Owl, but heard no Great Horned Owls.

However I did hear the “peents” of my first American Woodcock sitting in the brush just below Grandfather Pine! None seemed to be dancing yet in the savanna but I’ll be on alert now.
