Emerged 20 min or so after i was scoping the area and looking among the foraging white-crowned sparrows. Saw a bird fly low, land on the ground then up to perch on the perimeter fence. No photos, but a great lookâunmistakable rufous crown, white throat, gray body and greenish wash on wings and tail"

- Comments: "Continuing rarity seen in its usual area on the inside of the campground fence opposite the traffic circle entrance on Palm Ave. With a flock of White-crowned Sparrows. A grayish towhee with a rufous crown, white throat, and pale yellow-green wings."

Seen before we got out of the car; an unmistakable bright red, blue, and green bird in the top of the willows west of the Sanitary District offices. Flew away toward Carpinteria Creek before I could get photos."
