Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Group of four Scott's Orioles in El Cajon
I had noticed orioles in the late afternoon in the vicinity of the neighbor's coral tree across the street at 1869 Hidden Mesa Rd., so I staked it out from my yard at 1453 Hidden Mesa Trail. During the 20 minutes that I observed them, several orioles moved around in the Aleppo pine, sweet gum, and sycamore trees next to the coral tree. They were difficult to photograph in the foliage, but I could see them well enough to identify them as Scott's Orioles. One was a female, two were males in mature coloration, and a third male had a striated, brown back.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
