- Comments: "Continuing. Found today by Curtis Marantz by its Ruby-crowned Kinglet–like call, in the willows west of the Sanitary District offices. Through binoculars I had a brief glimpse of a relatively large (for a hummingbird) hummingbird with a strongly decurved beak, a dark auricular patch, and a blue-green tail. My out-of-focus photo more or less shows those features."

- Comments: "Present for an hour and a half in a clear area along the creek, in sycamores, including more than a half hour continually in the same tree. It was mostly backlit during this time, but we saw it in decent light at times. It was not very active, so we got to study it pretty well in each view, but it took a while to see all parts of the bird well. Medium sized flycatcher with distinctly peaky crest, grayish overall appearance, but with narrow and vaguely pale yellow area on the belly, coming to a peak at the bottom of the breast, whitish edges to the tertials, pale throat, vague and pale wing bars, and vague olive cast to the mantle when the bird was facing away.. Also, a very narrow white ring was visible around the eye as seen through the scope. The bill looked narrow from the side and entirely pale on the underside. When the bird faced toward us the bill looked reasonably broad at the base, narrowing toward the tip, and there appeared to be a small dark area at the tip. Both wings and tail were fairly long, and the tail was all dark on the underside."
