I got out a little this afternoon. After the rain had stopped. Little did I realize
Fog and mist would take over…..
Nothing unusual, but nice to see lots of pintails. Loads of mallards around
Also. This was Ellis warehouse retention pond and the Seward road
Ponds. Brate was empty. Butler county. Hardly any geese - they were probably all still out in farm fields. Redheads, wigeon, gadwall, hooded Mergs. A couple of
Black ducks. I am disappointed to say that a few more warehouses are going
Up at Seward. I hope the ponds that are there are in a no build zone……
I had time when I got home to hit Lake barber. Looks like the usual there. I couldn’t
See the far end of the lake because of the fog though! Canvasback, lesser
Scaup, goldeneyes - I keep searching for Barrows! Lake Erie has all the fun!
Etc. I couldn’t track any greater Scaup down, but the fog….. that’s a fun spot
That changes species wise constantly. And it’s close to my house!
The weather is changing yet again Sunday morning. Snow. Joy.
My warren and Clinton big years are really suffering…..
Good birding all.
