The Scaup was present in the part of the Lagoon more or less opposite the UCEN, sort of in the "Middle western" portion of the pond. Good identification possible through my scope. There was one female Scaup with it and also a male duck that I think must have been the hybrid Scaup X Ring-necked Duck others have mentioned. If anyone has a photo of this hybrid that they wouldn't mind sharing with me, I would rely appreciate it. Please reply off-list.
