Er go, species like creepers and GC Kinglets may give Mr. Merlin more
problems than most birds."
Jim, you are spot on with this. Last year I bought a Haiku Box and
generally have been very happy with it. But this winter it has been giving
me frequent reports of Brown Creeper and Golden Crowned Kinglet. WAY more
often than can be realistic. Interestingly, it never reports Ruby Crowned
Kinglet even though they are common, so I think it is mis-identifying that
one.. It also confuses bullfrog calls at night, often making an ID of
Roseate Spoonbill (only seen once in 10 years). Those glitches are an
exception, mostly it is quite good and has a longer range than expected.
