Subject: [CT Birds] Mega Bowl IX Results
Mega Bowl IX was held this weekend and was a great success. Despite the cold and bitter wind on Saturday, 64 participants went out in 23 teams and observed a total of 127 species throughout the state. 14 teams were spread out along the coast while another 9 teams covered inland areas. Most teams birded within a circle with a 5-mile radius. Many of us gathered this evening for a celebratory dinner at the Kellogg Environmental Center in Derby. A good time was had by all. By participating in the event, donations will be made to more than 10 environmental organizations throughout the state. The sum of the donations will be in the neighborhood of $1200. So, our birding will have a positive impact on our local habitat and birds. Thanks go to all of the hardy and dedicated participants. We're hoping for more people to participate in Mega Bowl X in 2026!
