This morning about 8:20 AM I arrived at the Giant Food store on Levittown Parkway in Fairless Hills.
As I got out of the car I heard the scream of a Gull. There are often gulls in this parking lot as it is near a lake and not far from a landfill.
As I looked up, I saw the Gull was being chased. At first I thought it was another gull. But as they flew closer to me, I realized the one chasing was a Peregrine Falcon.
This pursuit went on for about 5 minutes. The Peregrine always in chase. Once or twice it appeared to turn off, but then it would spin back toward the gull.
Several times when the gull flew close the ground the Peregrine went down on it but never got it. I was afraid I would see this Peregrine get by a car.
In the end the Peregrine peeled off and flew toward the nearby lake.
I had no binoculars, but I am guessing it was a juvenile.
