Subject: [ia-bird] Downtown eagles
Today I stopped by the Des Moines River in downtown DSM around noon. There
were at least 25 Bald Eagles between the Scott Avenue bridge and the SE 6th
St bridge, mostly perched in the trees along the right bank, with a few
flying around from time to time. There was also a Merlin perched in a
small tree just upstream from SE 6th on the right bank, and an estimated
300 Rock Pigeons perched on power lines over the river upstream from the
Scott Avenue bridge.
