I first checked Chase Palm Park and found the continuing Plumbeous Vireo in the pines along the north wall near the bandstand. It was fairly cooperative and easy to view. I did not see the Chestnut-sided Warbler while I was there, but I had a limited time to look.
I then moved to the Dwight Murphy Field parking lot at the corner of Ninos and Por La Mar Roads. I had visited this spot on Monday and caught the Lucy's Warbler then, but a soccer game was apparently about to happen and the lot was filling up fast, so I left. Today the lot was quiet but I didn't see a lot of warblers in the biggest tipu tree. However, I soon discovered they were all foraging on the road in front of 424 Por La Mar. I got an excellent look at the Lucy's warbler and viewed from above, the chestnut-colored rump patch was easily visible. The surprise was finding a Black-throated Gray Warbler in with the mix. I don't think this bird has been reported previously. The GPS coordinates for this location are: 34.41896,-119.67121.
