Greetings,
I went to Bolsa Chica today, 24 Jan, and ran into some interesting subjects.
An American "Storm type" Wigeon was in Wintersburg Channel near the tide gates.
A cooperative Western Meadowlark was foraging off of the north trail of Wintersburg Channel on the edge of the north muted tidal area.
A Turkey Vulture found a carcass and was feeding on it off of the north trail of Wintersburg Channel on the edge of the north muted tidal area.
Photos of each are posted in the following albums
Wigeon - 01 Waterfowl Album
Western Meadowlark - 38 Blackbirds Album
Turkey Vulture - 08 Raptors Album
Surprisingly, the Burrowing Owl was not on display when I was there.
Enjoy, Al Borodayko
Cypress, CA
