After the San Joaquin Audubon walk at the fish hatchery this morning I drove down Waverly Road, with a side jaunt across Flood Road. I found two Burrow Owls at the bluff on Waverly, two more on Flood just west of Waverly, and another on Waverly just south of Copperopolis Road. I did not see a Phainopepla today, but five Burrow Owls makes it a pretty good day, anyway.
I also saw an adult Bald Eagle and a Peregrine Falcon, but those were in Stanislaus County, so I won't bore you with the details. (Unless you're into that sort of thing. The BAEA was on 28 Mile Road, north of Woodward Reservoir, and the PEFA was in a distant tree east of Dunton Road.)
