It didn’t look good at first as there weren’t many birds around when I arrived, but then a big group of cowbirds and starlings appeared in the field, where the grazing cattle are. I watched for about 20 minutes and finally spotted the brightly yellow head foraging on the ground by a fence behind and to the left of the cattle. I switched from my bins to camera, but lost him when they all flushed and flew over the road to the cattle lot. I tried to find him at the lot unsuccessfully. Unmistakably for species - black bird with bright yellow head and chest. Definitely better going later in afternoon as there are less cars going up/down the road."
