The three red-headed woodpeckers continue at Janie Pierce Park in Southbury. Today I had a good look at the adult feeding (also heard calling) high in the trees to the left just above the green picnic table before the causeway; a second was calling just over the causeway, and the sub-adult with the dull red head was working a dead stump a little further along the path. 15 minutes later no sign nor sound of them - patience may be needed but they are still there for over a month now!
