I checked Google Books, and while nothing specific to the Mystic popped up,
the top result is an incredible 1906 400+ page volume titled "The Birds of
the Cambridge Region of Massachusetts". Perhaps it's already familiar to
others, but it's the first time I've seen it. It's available for download
as a (large) PDF:

Even just skimming a few pages it's clear it's humble reading: descriptions
of numbers of individuals and species we no longer see.

The list itself starts on page 85. The pages leading up are part local
ornithological history and part memoir.
