Seen and heard offshore, from the middle parking area on Mendocino Headlands at 9:30 Friday morning, a raft of several hundred very vocal (likely) Common Murre. (Left my scope at home, and am always open to tactful correction).
Their sounds include a seabird colony guttural “purring,” and what resembles the bleating of many demented lambs.
