Subject: Black-chinned Hummingbird Continues (Pulaski County)
We decided to stop by Alison Hoge's to see her male Black-chinned again and try for some more photos. The purple gorget is filling out nicely on his right side with just a few dots on the left. And, of course, he would only go to a feeding port that showed us his dots. We eventually tracked him down in the trees where we could see his right side but he wouldn't flash it when the camera was on him..Must be camera shy in addition to being people shy. Alison told us she'll be available this weekend if folks want to come see him but please contact her first to let her know. Text is fine at 501-590-5231. She's been taking exceptional care of this bird, and even bought an extra feeder, 2 feeder heaters and a brood lamp to keep the sugar water from freezing. He comes fairly regularly, especially in the morning, but usually makes his last visit around 4:30. Patty McLean and Michael Linz The Roadrunners
