The condition is not genetic. When I lived in Vermont I had a leucistic grackle visit my feeder off and on for approximately two weeks. (Picture)

Subject: [Ohio-birds] Leucistic Mourning Dove and House Finch
Have these at my feeders. Seems we are seeing a lot of leucistic birds. Is this normal? Enviromental issues? Does this color pattern go away when they molt?
