I had a Ruby-crowned Kinglet in my Cambridge yard this morning.
Displaying! And in January! Coming to a suet cake.
I first saw a Ruby-crowned in 1974, my first year of birding,.at the top
of Santa Fe Baldy, New Mexico.
My spark bird; the bird that ignited my passion for birding, and its
flashing crown sparkling was appropriate.
