I stopped at the corner of Elizabeth and Gold Streets in Alviso today at
1:30 pm. From there, looking due north or nearly so, I spotted two
Sanderlings. One was distant, the other extremely distant. As a reference,
for both, in the background was the west end of the newly constructed
seawall/levee or whatever the hell it is and the 'NILES' sign on the distant
east bay hills right above it. A few minutes later, at the Spreckles St
pond, I counted 27 Snowy Plovers and one Semipalmated Plover from the RR
crossing.
