All the usual suspected ducks at Great Island Common and Seacoast Science Center - missed Black Scoter. My last stop was Chapman's Landing where I had 13 Common Mergs and 4 Hoodies, so, including red breasted mergs earlier, half of the world's six spp of mergansers locally.. Fun fact from the podcast, The Science of Birds (recommend): a name from long ago for the Hooded Merganser is the Pickaxe Shelldrake. Roger Stephenson Stratham
