My neighbors have been reporting seeing a bald eagle in Avila Beach since about December 25. Today I finally caught sight of it and grabbed some good photos. It is high above San Luis Obispo Creek on the upper part of the Bob Jones Trail that runs from the footbridge to the Avila Beach Golf Resort. The bird can be barely seen from near the footbridge but as you walk along that upper trail the bird comes into clear view, very high but much closer than the Laguna Lake bald eagle that hangs out on the far side of the lake.
