Hal,
I enjoyed your Mitch Park report using the 4 letter Alpha or Bird Banding
Codes. I was aware that they existed, but had only taken a look at them
one time and hadn't memorized any of them. Anyway, it was great fun and a
good brainstorming session for my 79 year old mind to decode them. Having
a good knowledge of Oklahoma's Winter Birds enabled me to only miss one of
them, of all things the MODO, a species in an earlier life I used to hunt
and enjoyed eating (in my earlier life defense, seasonal hunting has not
even "dented" their population). I must also admit that I didn't even know
that the Tree Sparrow was an "American" and just knew them as a "TS" (my
personal 2 letter "Bravo" code). Looking forward to testing myself again
in your future reports!
