There was a large movement of American Pipits on 1/11/25 in the Tulsa metro, presumably due to the passing on the winter storm. I started the day with one at Manion Park along Joe Creek in Tulsa. I was excited because it was a new bird for my 5 mile radius patch. While somewhat common in the county, the lack of habitat in area makes this a jewel.
Over the course of the day, I had them at 2 other locations in my 5MR. The most ridiculous one was in the parking lot of the Sprouts at 41st and Harvard while I was getting groceries.
They went from jewel, to parking lot “trash bird” in less than 8 hrs.
