Subject: [ia-bird] A 6-Merlin Day!
Today (Fri, 1/10) I went to Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines on a heavily
overcast evening around sunset (ss 5:04). I started seeing several Merlins
in different locations, and there was some moving around, but for a few
minutes there were 6 showing: 1 in a tall spruce at the north edge of Block
24, 2 in separate locust trees in Blk. H, 1 in the scraggly spruce in Blk.
J, 1 in the large English oak in Blk. 33D, and 1 in a tall English oak in
the center of Blk. 37. Earlier one each had been in Blk. 20, Blk. 16, the
old cottonwood in Blk. H, and the big oak in Blk. 33B.
