I keep a filled suet feeder, and along with the usual visitors, I've had lots of fun this winter watching both the crows and the bluejays take turns pecking off chunks of suet and dropping them to their buddies waiting on the ground down below. I go through lots more suet this way, but it's worth it for the fun of watching it go on. I also have a regular pileated woodpecker visit the suet and he makes huge inroads on it as well. I buy suet by the 12 pack!
Another interesting observation at my feeder is one male cardinal and three female companions.
