Hi folks,
Bob and I spent about three hours at Patagonia Lake this morning and ended up with 48 species of birds.
Lots of Bufflehead, Common Merganser, Ruddy Duck, Lesser Scaup, and a few Northern Shovelers on the lake.
Along the birding trail we saw Orange-crowned, Black-throated Gray, and Yellow-rumped Warblers, lots of House Wrens, a single Bewick's Wren, and many, many White-crowned Sparrows. As usual, there was an Empid that I just couldn't ID.
At the feeders above the lake we saw Black-throated, House, and Lincoln Sparrows, plus House Finch and Lesser Goldfinch, Northern Cardinal, and Pyrrholuxia.
We stopped briefly at Paton's and added Anna's and Broad-billed Hummingbirds and Lazuli Bunting to the day's list.
The weather was perfect, calm and 50's- low 60's. The wind started to come up late morning, but we were headed north by then.
