Subject: [MASSBIRD] Worcester Area today (12/12/24)
This morning, I did some scouting for my sector of the Worcester Christmas
Count. Here is what I recorded:

LEESVILLE POND (mostly open)
Canada Goose 48
Mallard 21
Hooded Merganser 15
Blue Jay 4
Black-capped Chickadee 1
White-breasted Nuthatch 1
Dark-eyed Junco 6
Song Sparrow 5

NOTRE DAME CEMETERY (mostly open)
Canada Goose 21
Mallard 2
Belted Kingfisher 1
Downy Woodpecker 2
Blue Jay 3
American Crow 1
Tufted Titmouse 1
Dark-eyed Junco 1
Song Sparrow 4
Northern Cardinal 2

CURTIS POND
Mute Swan 1
Mallard 4
Common Merganser 3
Ring-billed Gull 3
Dark-eyed Junco 4

COES RESERVOIR
Mute Swan 4
Ring-necked Duck 10
Hooded Merganser 2
Ring-billed Gull 6
Bald Eagle 1 adult
American Crow 4
Fish Crow 1 (this is one of the best locations to find this species in
Worcester)
note: I did not get the Wood Ducks that John Shea found

Rock Pigeon (Feral Pigeon) 54
Ring-billed Gull 3
note: I did not get the Peregrine, but Kim saw one when she went by the
police station, so it is at least a Count Week bird
