Good afternoon, all. Please join us for the 79th annual Ann Arbor Christmas Bird Count, sponsored by the Washtenaw Bird & Nature Alliance. This year's count will take place on Saturday, December 21, 2024 - birders can (and will) be out in the pre-dawn hours to look for owls and many more will join in during the daytime to try and get as accurate a census of the avian life within the confines of our count circle. The data we collect contributes to a huge citizen science dataset managed by the National Audubon Society to chart the winter distribution patterns of birds all over the western hemisphere.
If you are interested in participating, please sign up using the registration form on the WBNA CBC page (https://washtenawbna.org/christmas-bird-count/); that page also has a wealth of information in the form of instructions, a checklist, and maps for each of the eight count areas we use. Should you have any questions that aren't answered there, please feel free to reach out to me at <cbc...> I hope you can make it - good birding!
