Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Greater Pewee continues
The Greater Pewee found late yesterday by Bonnie Henson continues Sunday morning in the bottom end of Hilltop Park in Chula Vista. As in the south end where all the big eucalyptus trees are. The bird is buried mostly in the eucalyptus leaves but does its pip pip call from time to time. The bird started calling at about 6:25 a.m. Given it's just been found, we don't know yet whether the bird spends all day in the park or only roosts here so only present early and late in the day, and whether or not findable only when it vocalizes. I would also like to add that this is probably hopeless to suggest this, but since it is a roost site, it probably would be nice if folks didn't blast recordings at it.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
