An unintentionally belated congrats to the winner of the Nov Challenge. Well done Stafford County! And thanks to Pam who kept trying to egg us on!
And a challenge it was indeed here in Carroll! Despite early month warmer temperatures the birds did not seem to linger- even in the first days out of the gate. We were left with less than a handful of “regular birders” of Carroll County -as two regulars were “on the bench" for various reasons for the month. But the intrepid few kept trying, month-long to seek out new and different spots to find birds, in the end we did what we could and had some great birds, (regardless of where we placed).
Perhaps for next year we can recruit more birders (there must be more in Carroll County!) to participate . Or even folks who like a challenge from other counties to drop in and help out!
