This year's Golden Eagle count had been tracking with the 2021-2022 counts, but has lagged so far in December. See the two charts.
Stone Mt watchers have seen more GEs than Bald Eagle Mt in Dec by 21-14, despite Stone Mt watchers missing Thursday, the windy day. Stone Mt sometimes does better on W wind than Bald Eagle Mt, so not a big surprise.
We will have to wait and see if there are any more big days in December. There have been some excellent December days during the last three years.
I am uncertain what days will be covered this weekend, currently Sunday looks better than Saturday, because W is better than WSW.
So far, 386 Golden Eagles between Bald Eagle Mt and AF-Sandy Ridge. Should easily reach 400, probably not 500.
