It's been a good fall so far for this species on inland lakes but an eBird report today of a flock of 12 from the southern end of Lake Mascoma in Enfield is remarkable and worth checking out. Excepting an older record of a massive fallout (cant remember the lake, date, or number of birds and I dont have Keith & Fox to hand), this would be a very high count for this regular but scarce inland migrant. For anyone interested, Mascoma is a tricky lake for view access, but there is view access from Route 4A looking north from the very southern end of the lake.
