Coming home from Harper’s Ferry I was on Cattail Rd when I saw several, white spots in the big corn stubble field.  Seemed to be a collection of birds on a carcass.  That was worth going home and getting my binoculars for a better look.  Turned out to be FOUR adult eagles, one immature and a number of crows.  A couple of vultures were a ways down the field.  Pretty exciting!  It is a hilly, two lane road with fields on both sides but there are some spots where you can stop and be visible to cars from both directions.

When I pulled the curtain this morning the Brown Creeper was already ratcheting up the walnut tree.  The suet cakes are very popular with the woodoeckside.  Cool to see the Pileated and one of the others side by side.

I had just put out some mealworms and was whistling for the Bluebirds when I saw the Pileated perched on the edge of the full deer bucket drinking water.  That's a new one on me.

This afternoon the Cooper's came by but was not successful in snagging  a meal.
