Bob,
Note that from what I see on Google Maps it hasn’t been updated since some road construction in the Riverlands area!
From Alton cross the Mississippi River going south on the Clark Bridge (Hwy 67). About a half mile south of the bridge there is a U-Turn lane to go north on 67, take that and then make the immediate right exit (Riverlands Way) at the gas station. There are signs for Riverlands and the Audubon Center. As you pass the gas station Teal Pond will be on your right, Ellis Bay on the left. The first right from Riverlands Way (Wise Road) will take you to a parking lot at the south edge of Teal Pond. This is also the way to Orton Rd and Cora Island NWR birding areas. Note that Orton Rd is really the south edge of Riverlands. There is a blind there and the a trail past the gate at the end of the road.
Farther down Riverlands Way is the Audubon Center with displays and nice restrooms. Continuing on you have views of Ellis Bay on the left and Heron Pond on your right. Past the maintenance sheds is the road to Ed and Pat Jones Confluence SP. The road and park are separate hotspots. If you continue on Riverlands Way the road makes a curve to the left and takes you to a parking lot at the lock and dam. Note that about halfway past the curve you enter Illinois and a different eBird hotspot. The parking lot at the lock and dam is also in Illinois.
Check those hotspots in eBird to see what has been reported.
Once in a while Peregrine Falcons are spotted sitting on the Clark Bridge Towers.

HI,
I expect to be in Alton/Edwardsville this Thursday and Friday.
I don't know my way around St. Louis, and I am asking for advice about how to visit Riverlands.
