Subject: [CT Birds] Coastal Center
11/20 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal center. 10am-1PM, low
tide-rising. initially overcast but turned sunny-55F.
Some class visits learning about the clouds at the center this morning as
well as other visitors.
On the marsh: (viewed from inside building ) About 60 Canada Geese, 4
mallards, 23 American Black ducks, 10 Black bellied plovers on a mud flat.
On the grounds & feeders: 10 House finches -1 having the orange
coloration, 4 Chickadees at feeders and feeding upside down on the
evergreens, 15 House sparrows, 1 Song sparrow at the fountain, 2 White
breasted nuthatches, 1 Northern cardinal, 2 Tufted Titmice, 1 Downy & 1
Red bellied woodpecker, 1 Carolina Wren, 2 American Goldfinches, 7
Pigeons, 1 Hermit thrush foraging in a downed bush by the back windows .
Many birds taking advantage of our bird baths.
