Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] yet another Gray Flycatcher (Del Mar)
There seems to be a Gray Flycatcher worm hole exit centered in the greater Del Mar area. In addition to the returning bird in the Fairbanks Ranch area and a new bird at El Camino Cemetery (Sorrento Valley), another new bird turned up this morning (Monday) behind the Del Mar Public Works. The weedy, dry "pond" area was lightly bulldozed a few moths ago, making it very easy to walk around on the floor of the "pond," checking all the edges and weeds.

Yesterday, there was a total of 6 Bullock's Orioles in Otay Mesa: 3 at Sunnyslope Park and 3 at Montgomery Waller Park. The continuing, returning Tropical Kingbird was on the utility wires along Dairy Mary Road, with Cassin's. A "new"-but-returning female Vermilion Flycatcher was off Saturn Blvd. in the TRV. On the 16th, there was a male "Slate-colored" Dark-eyed Junco along the west edge of Balboa Park, just south of the magnolia grove.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
