Subject: Re: [sbcobirding] Nighthawk on Gaviota S Park access rd, Nov. 17
Hi, as I left the park at dusk - ca 17:20 - I flushed a nighthawk on the
road about 100 years N of the park gate. A lot of late traffic, so the bird
flushed and landed easily 10+ times alway from creek xing to about200 yds
N. Mosly under eucalyptus, so likely 'resident'. Small, chubby, indistinct
whitish throat line, no white on body: most likely Common Poorwill.
