I'm sorry to report unusual birds from a place where access is restricted, but it's best to let folks know what's out there. 4 female-plumaged *Common Mergansers* were in the middle of the lake and those, of course, can be seen by renting a boat. A *Swamp Sparrow* was in tules at the NW extreme of my route shown on my checklist. There are only a very few records of this species at Cachuma and less than 2 handfuls in the Interior District of the County. A *Prairie Falcon* was working the shore of Storke Flat as I arrived. https://ebird.org/checklist/S202709783
