Subject: [OrangeCountyBirding] female wigeon
While wind-walking the loop trail at Bolsa Chica this afternoon, I spotted
a chestnut-bedecked Eurasian Wigeon. The well-defined white fringes to both
the upperwing and tertial coverts should make this an adult female rather
than an immature male, despite the remnant dusky fringe on the culmen
(perhaps indicating a second-year bird?).
