Jennifer Pederson and I decided to bird the area in late afternoon to see if there were any SEOWs and were rewarded with quite an aerial display by several of them. After we had birded other parts of the area, we parked by the silo and walked the mowed service road across the road from there chasing a Northern Shrike. We continued walking away from the main road before we started seeing the owls. Time was around 5:15. Once they started, owls just kept coming.
