I haven't birded the Houston area in decades! But, FYI, one of our most favorite restaurants is in Galveston and appears to be still in business, despite being wiped out by one of the hurricanes but was then rebuilt.
Our favorite used to be the blackened red snapper with crawfish topping. And the creamy Amaretto cheesecake was to die for.
Again, this is decades old info ... but it looks like you may still have to take out a second mortgage on your house to pay for dinner, but ... yummmmm!
Enjoy!

Does anybody have recommendations about birding in the Houston area and in Costa Rica?
