Marc Passman reported a Gray Catbird at Arthur Pack yesterday. (Okay Marc… location for those of us who frequent the park) The species seems to have arrived in force throughout Pima Co this year.
My pleasant surprise this AM was a female Merlin that sat for me as I photographed closer and closer. Then it dove on a trio of Western Meadowlarks; I didn’t see if she was successful. Photos are on the EBird Hotspot for Arthur Pack Regional Park. Handsome bird.
Also ran into a Gray Flycatcher for the third time in 8 days, probably the same bird.
