Hi Birders,
On Sunday 12/15/24, we will be holding this year's Ramsey Canyon Christmas
Bird Count. We have a pretty good turnout this year but could always use
more birders to help get the best coverage possible. We have a wide
variety of birding experiences available on the count including:
1. Feeder Watching at one of the local public feeder hot spots. A good
option for those who can't do a lot of walking.
2. In town birding in Sierra Vista or Hereford. Combo of drive and stop
birding with some good city park walks.
3. Hiking steep canyon trails in the Huachucas. Do you like snow
hiking... it's a possibility?
4. Driving precarious mountain roads to get to higher elevation
hiking/birding. Not for the faint of heart but a unique habitat to check
out in winter.
5. Biking a few miles to get to San Pedro River riparian habitat.
6. You can simply join the weekly EOP bird walk, it's part of the count.
