Subject: [slocobirding] Raptors along Van Gordon Creek Rd.
For the past several years, ever since the White-tailed Kite evening roost of 107 was observed way back in Nov. 2011, I have made it a point to drive about a mile in along Van Gordon Creek Rd. in November. Nothing ever quite as awesome as the WTKI assembly has been seen since but that road continues to host several raptors species.

A few interesting raptors were seen yesterday and today. Yesterday a Ferruginous Hawk, Golden Eagle, American Kestrel and several Red-tailed Hawks were spotted as I drove along the road, stopping briefly to snap a few flight shots. Returning again this morning I counted 7 juvenile RTHA perched on wires and small bushes and trees. Seems like quite a few of the same age to be hanging around together.

Already looking forward to my next visit to Van Gordon!
