Subject: [OrangeCountyBirding] American bittern still at San Joaquin
Hi all:

The American bittern was very cooperative this morning at San Joaquin.  Around 8 am, the bittern was in the center area along the north shore of Pond D, mainly hiding in the reeds but occasionally emerging into the open water to sun itself for several minutes at a time.  (See photos below)

At around the same time, a Wilson's snipe was showing nicely in the southeast corner of Pond C.

Also, a northern harrier buzzed Ponds C, D, and E at pretty much the same time.
