Weather: Partly cloudy in the morning becoming clear skies by the end of the count. Moderate and occasionally gusty northerly winds. Mild temperatures but chilly with the wind.
Raptor Observations: A good amount of mid-morning activity but slower in the afternoon when we lost the clouds and spotting was more difficult. The highlight was an immature GOLDEN EAGLE that gave a nice look around 9:40am. A lot of Bald Eagles seen but most didn't seem to be migrating. Six harriers, 7 red-shoulders, and 14 red-tails. The only falcon was a hunting Merlin.
Non-raptor Observations: 300 Canada Geese, 4 Common Loons, Great Blue Heron, Fish Crow, Common Raven, 4 Purple Finches, 1,500 Common Grackles, no monarchs. https://ebird.org/checklist/S202303536

Thursday: Overcast. High 52F. Winds ENE at 5-10mph. Expect light to moderate migration.
Friday: Mix of sun and clouds. High 55F. Winds NNW at 10-15mph. Expect moderate migration. ======================================================================== Report submitted by David Brown (<davidebrownpa...>) Ashland Nature Center information may be found at: www.delnature.org
