Monday morning at 7:20 a.m. I just had an Ovenbird in Coronado in the line of thick vegetation that forms the border of the golf course maintenance yard near the corner of 6th and Glorietta. Specifically, it's the vegetation on the golf course side of the maintenance buildings. However, under no circumstances can one walk even 15 ft. Onto the golf course. So you have to stay right up next to the vegetation, and then you have a good chance of flushing the bird. So this will take delicate searching to see it but not flush it. Earlier in the morning, there was a getting-late Western Flycatcher in Spreckles Park.
Yesterday at Sweetwater Reservoir, just after dawn at the upper end, there was a high count of 19 Wilson's Snipe, as well as five Common Goldeneyes and the continuing Gr. White-fronted Goose in the Canada Goose flock.
